My newborn son.

His eyes are so bright,
Fill our heart with delight.

Tiny little legs waving in air,
Hands playing with mom’s hair,

His feet are so small,
Tiny toes are ten in all.

I really like his beautiful smile,
Forget all worries for a while.

Oh my sweet little baby boy,
You are our bundle of joy.

Saving

I had a piggy bank,
that stood on the shelf.

Was being fed with,
the coins I saved myself.

Oneday my money,
got jam packed inside.

On seeing an year's saving,
my chest inflated in pride.

I still save these days,
but not anymore in piggy.

From the day I realised,
the ' Time value of money"

I opened an account in SBI,
with the amount I saved.

Then I felt like a grown up,
from young and naive.

Morning scene

Leaves were shining with morning dew,
the sky looked something new,

The Sun was there red and low,
gradually turning bright yellow.

Looked like an aura behing the hill.
over it birds fled with zeal.

Gradually I got glued to the scene.
Until the road got filled with din.

Dream land

Think of world sans any country,
I am sure we can.

Where love will be the only religion,
and man will care for man.

Where earth will be common nation,
and sky will be common roof.

Where dove will always inspire us,
and nationality will need no proof.

Where caste and creed will be laughed out loud,
all will stride holding each other's hand.

So what are we waiting for?
Let's make this world a dream land.

Childhood summer

At last over,
my exam days,
Piles of books,
are now garbage,

Picked up the bat,
and headed for lane.
Hit sixer,
and broke window pane.

Late in the afternoon,
I looked at trees,
Holding the kite,
waited for breeze.

Rice water and mangoes,
was must for noon,
Night was spent,
sleeping under the moon.

Childhood summer,
was naughty but sweet.
Those unforgettable days,
I just cherish it.

Railway journey

Speeding forward on parallel tracks,
shaking bogies to and fro,

Talkative aunties and dozing uncles,
all packed in a row.

The soothing breeze blowing from window,
lulled me to sleep.

But crying babies make,
it a sleepless trip.

One night at river bank

An absolute stillness and so quiet,
clear blue sky with twinkling light.

The moon resting on placid water,
nothing else could calm me better,

River was crowned with dark hills,
So picturesque that I was chilled.

Upon wet sand I sank my feet,
Felt afternoon's warmth through it.

So enchanting it soaked my gloom,
my exhausted soul started to bloom.

First downpour

A greyish cloud from southern sky,
halted over hill and poured out rain.

It was now raining cats and dogs,
water droplets tattoed my window pane.

Frogs leaped merrily and croaked,
Paperboats danced on spluttering drains.

Grasses now looked fresh and green,
The pond nearby started to swell.

Slowly the cloud moved away,
with flashes of lighting and thundering aloud.

The Sun-ray started kissing the earth,
and a rainbow was seen kissing a cloud.

Lessons from a rose

From the softness of petals,
I experience humbleness.

From the scent of the flower,
I learn selflessness.

From the thorn that it bears,
I learn to be protective.

With the freshness that it glows,
I learn to be active.

Honey the it stores in nectar,
teach me to be charming and sweet.

I learn to be friendly and cheerful,
from the way it warmly greets.

Gloomy day

I am so sad today, just awfully sad,
I dont know how long, it is driving me mad.

I find it so difficult to smile,
and to calm my mind for a while.

Just feeling like breathing fire,
and body wrapped in barbed wire.

My face looks like faded flower,
feeling blue at this hour.

I am trying to be happy again,
But all my efforts goes in vain.

Small advice

This world is quite entralling,
thanks O God for ending me here.

There is happiness on my way,
yet a lot of pain to bear.

Fill your lung with fresh air,
dont smoke to pollute it.

Eat something healthy and solid,
try to be active and fit.

Good books are your best friends,
have an open and positive mind.

Life is beautiful, God is with us,
move forward, don't look behind.

Sounds

Place your hands on your chest,
you will feel your pounding heart.

In a village on a fine evening,
you are sure to hear creaking of carts.

Take a stride around jogger's park,
Chriping of birds will strike your ears.

In the garden of your backyard,
Humming sound you are sure to hear.

In hot afternoon from a mango tree,
song of Bulbul will calm your mind.

A deaf ear will miss this beauty,
but it is the world for ears of a blind.

Last day of a rose

After a restful night,
the rays of Sun woke me up,

I opened my petals to see,
grass beneath me and sky atop.

I love the gardener,
who met me first.

He fondled me,
and quenched my thirst.

The the Sun,
shone more bright,

It gave myself,
a beautiful sight.

I hate the florist,
who plucked me up,

I was then tied with cousins,
and sold at shop.

West ward wind

Where are you going, O westward wind?
Blowing such a soothing breeze!

You keep switching from storm to wind,
in long winters you make us freeze.

You make sail the clouds on sky,
You shake up the twigs of trees,

Upon your heart, you let birds fly,
Your soothing wind makes me feel so free,

How you toss kites so high?
And in fields you make such waves?

Where is your home and what is your age?
When are you going to end your voyage?

Ekansh's birthday invitation

“An year gone by,
How quickly time has flown,

Our little bundle of joy,
How fast  he has grown!

He has learned to laugh,
He has learned to stand,

He has learned to clap,
He can walk holding papa’s hand.

Autumn has now  begun,
bees are humming.

Ekansh will turn One,
and Party is coming.”

Midnight of 31/12

Wait Mr Brand New Year!!!
spare us some time to cheer!!!

shaking of hips and stomping of foots,
beer drenched every one's shirt n boots.

vibing together to bhangra beat,
euphoria in the pub rose the heat.

shooing rockets and sprinkling lights,
looked lovely in in the pitch black night.

Imagination

In every rose that blooms,
i feel d softness of ur lips;
our eyes was closed,
and d kiss was so deep...

I remember those days,
when we walked hand in hand.
drenched in rainwater...
and feet dipped in wet sand.

Dusk...my delight

Sky got overcast with greyish shade,
making the world look calm and cool.

Somewhere cloud looked like sea over sky,
and somewhere it looked like a pile of wool.

My garden then made a dazzling sight,
Roses, Marigold shone more bright.

Lily now seemed more white.
Looked lovely in dim light.

Suddenly the cloud parted off,
and the Sun started peeping out.

Oh! How lovely the nature is!
Its beyond any one’s doubt.

Horrible blind date

That girl with a sucked face…
Sneezing and spitting all over the place!

Making a face like constipated crocodile
As if costs like hell to smile!

Looked like a queen of botox city..
Still the face looked far from pretty.

She laughs as if moaning in pain..
Remix that with cook-dooing of hen.

Doesn’t she know no guy will date
Why just me so unfortunate..??

Now u girl don’t yak on me…
Just show me the way to flee!!

Thank you weekend!!

I stuff my mouth with chilly chicken,
And sip my little foster can,

Get glued to TV for premiere show,
day dream staring out of window,

Drag myself to bath during afternoon hour,
Then stand and ponder under warm shower,

Hearty pokhal follows long nap,
Snore under blanket like F1 lap,

Rush to roof top to watch sunset,
Breath slowly and meditate,

When The Sun gets low and red,
Weekday's stress slowly fade.

Lazy beginning of the day

Clock over table  started to scream,
Leaving me in halfway of dream.

“Conserve energy , don’t waste”
I needed another two hours of rest.

Yawned  a little with eyes still closed,
Laziness engulfed and again I dozed.

“Slow and steady win the race”,
Underneath pillow I hid my face.

“Miles to sleep before I am woken”
Dreams  are not supposed to be broken.

Within minutes  I was back sleep,
Slowly and gradually it turned deep.

Picnic

It began with a call from captain.
(The one who took all the pain),

Big day followed three wonderful weekends,
Merriment started with gathering of old friends,

All we needed was to take a break,
And enjoy the day with Mc Dowell and Goldflake,

Venue was fixed at outskirt of the town,
We danced there till our shirts turned brown,

Endless glasses of hards and softs,
And countless half burnt cigarette stubs,

I ll miss it all through out the year,
Big day seems so far, yet so near.
