Suddenly the power went off. She went inside and came back with a blinking candle. Her face glowed in dim light. Darkness accentuated her beauty and I kept looking on, unaware of world around me.
Her tiny ear rings glittered like her lively eyes.
She looked at me. Caring not to make her feel insecure, I had to look away. Window offered nothing but outlines of moonlit trees.
I hated waft of Jasmine smell which made its way through window. The urge to propose her was even harder to resist.
“Is nt it hot in here.” she almost startled me. “And a lovely evening outside” I said with a hope to moving up to terrace.
The rooftop offered a picturesque sight. Full moon was winking me. Gush of cool breeze started blowing out of nowhere. My hand involuntarily moved to adjust her hair and tuck that behind her right ear.
She seemed pleasantly surprised. I wanted to say it now.
“ It is such an obsession. These never ending thoughts with only you in it.”
“ Worse, you scare me in dream too”
She kept noticing her feet and I carried on.
“ You are very very special” “ most wonderful girl in walk of my life till date”
“This confession will make me feel lighter though you may not want to hear.” With a deep sigh I finally said it.
“ Believe me, I love you.”
I steeled my nerves to face worst reaction.
She lifted her chin to look at my eyes again. Tears rolled down her cheeks which glistened in moon light.
