River Saraswati was placid and clear
I untied the boat and steered
The full moon accentuated beautiful night
Ripple glittered under moon light
The buliding atop cliff now looked taller
That housed few priests and scholar
I pulled the rudder and steered ahead
To reach Mohenjodaro the city of dead
A city without religion but just belief
A city of joy and grief
The Great Bath was an experience
It cleaned my body, soul and sense
People would work hard all day long
Evening was colorful with dance and song
All attention was drawing to dancing girls
Their confident moves and clinking of bangles
Houses had abundant water and grains
Clean and hygienic with well planned drains
Language was music to ears
incomprehensible yet pleasant to hear.
Proud of this wonderful awesome history
But end of this civilization is still a mystery.
