Maa Samleswari

I drove through sleepy lanes

To offer prayer in dead of a night

I was welcomed with stoic silence

my sweaty hands trembled with fright

I instinctively pushed the bell near gate

Got startled by it’s sound

The wafting smell of earthen lamps

Accentuated good vibes all around       

As I stepped in to the dark Garvagriha

I felt my body getting separated from soul

A moment caught me looking at Her .

And I got merged into Black Hole.

Blinding clouds of light started fading up

And Maa Samlei emerged from above,

I was euphoric and jumped delightfully

As she looked intently with motherly love.

I involuntarily danced to sound of “Mridung”  

And lifted eyelids to come back to sense

I was surrounded by people who looked concerned

And my dress got completely drenched

I felt like a new man as I got up

With my newfound faith and belief

I keep thanking Maa for every moment of joy

And She is ray of hope for profound grief.
