I gazed at a distant rain-washed Mango tree
With fond reminiscence of my pre-teen days
The wet deserted road looked like molten Gold
and shimmered beautifully in slanted rays
The twilight painted Sky with a tinge of Saffrons
Which gradually got sprinkled with stars
The Sun sank in in amidst two hills
Creating silhouette of a temple afar
Transcendental blow of conch startled sleepy charm
while birds hurriedly flapped back to their nest
In between drifting clouds resembled an Unicorn
The winking Moon peeped after a long rest
With calm mind and determined heart
Took deep sigh and whispered out a prayer
May this twilight bring back a brighter dawn
and vibe of hope, compassion, affection and care.
